Meet Our Founder

Angela Harrison, MBA, MLS
My Mission is Simple:
To help leaders build ethical, compliant teams grounded in integrity, while driving strong performance, improving employee retention, and fostering high team morale.
I’m Angela Harrison, founder of Virginia Compliance, LLC, and a long-time advocate for the belief that ethical and compliant leadership is the cornerstone of effective, trustworthy healthcare organizations.
With more than 15 years of experience in regulatory compliance, privacy oversight, internal auditing, and organizational ethics, I have worked alongside leaders in medical, dental, pharmacy, nonprofit, and media environments. Across these settings, one truth has remained consistent: compliance challenges are rarely technical failures, they are leadership challenges that originate at the top of the organization.
I founded Virginia Compliance, LLC to advance a mission centered on empowering leaders to lead ethically and compliantly while engaging their teams, strengthening morale, and driving sustainable productivity. I believe compliance is most effective when it is not treated as a checklist or isolated function, but as a leadership discipline embedded in decision-making, culture, and daily operations.
My work focuses on fractional compliance and privacy leadership, ethical leadership coaching, executive education, and speaking. Through this work, I help leaders translate regulatory expectations into principled leadership practices that reinforce accountability, build trust, improve retention, and support long-term organizational performance, without compromising integrity or compliance.
My experience includes building and strengthening compliance programs, leading HIPAA investigations, supporting accreditation efforts, enhancing internal controls, and educating teams on how to protect trust at every level. These experiences shape my approach, ensuring leadership development is grounded in real-world regulatory accountability and ethical decision-making, not theory alone.
I hold an MBA from Longwood University and a Master of Legal Studies in Business and Compliance from American University Washington College of Law, and I am completing a Doctor of Executive Leadership at the University of Lynchburg. I am also trained in HIPAA privacy, Fraud, Waste, and Abuse prevention, and compliance and ethics leadership, with ongoing professional development in these areas.
At my core, I value integrity, clarity, and practical leadership solutions. I work with leaders who want to model accountability, engage their people, and build strong cultures where compliance, ethics, and performance reinforce one another.
If you are seeking leadership coaching or speaking that goes beyond policies and procedures, addressing how leaders think, decide, and lead in regulated environments, I welcome the opportunity to work with you.
